The access door also makes emptying the burn grate between cooks a quick and easy process, as the diffuser plate can remain in place during the cleaning process. 

Dual Food Probes & Probe Port

No more babysitting your smoker, as the Fireboard app for mobile devices allows you to remotely monitor multiple food probes on the YS640s. You can also preprogram alerts and temperature adjustments after a specific period of time or when your food reaches a predetermined internal temperature. And probe life is extended thanks to a probe port on the hopper side of the grill that provides direct access to the cooking chamber without probe wires getting crimped underneath a closed lid.

Shipping & Assembly

Flat-rate shipping via freight is available for the YS640s, with shipping prices and times determined at the time of order placement. Alternatively, you are welcome to save on shipping costs by picking up the grill at our flagship store location in Wichita, KS. Shipped orders are sent in a box, with the cart unassembled, to reduce freight damage. However, the chamber comes pre-assembled. Two people can typically construct the cart in just 60 to 90 minutes using a few standard tools.

Quick Start Tips & Best Practices

Firing up your Yoder YS640s is both quick and easy. Once the pellet hopper is loaded and the grill is powered up, simply press the start button. You’ll immediately hear the auger move pellets into the burn pot for approximately 30 seconds, after which the igniter will power on to start the combustion process.

Many problems associated with failed ignition are prevented by the fact that the Yoder Smokers ignition system lights the pellets with induction heat. The ceramic ignition system outlasts conventional contact igniters by five times, heats up twice as quickly, and generates 100% more heat. 

Within 3 to 4 minutes, visible flames will appear. The fans and auger will work in concert to ensure the fire is fueled enough to help the grill reach the target temperature. For best results:

• Clean the burn pot of any ash or debris before each use.
• Adjust the variable displacement damper to its widest position by pulling it fully to the right side of the Yoder YS640s. 
• Allow the grill to reach the desired temperature before adding food to cook. Take weather conditions into consideration, as this might take longer when temperatures are low.

At its core, every Yoder YS640s pellet grill is built to function with consistent convenience. While different configurations come with different bases, or without a base in the case of the built-in grill, they all have nearly identical grill bodies (cooking chamber and hopper constructions) as well as the Yoder Smokers ACS.
