WiFi-Control from Anywhere

The Yoder Smokers YS480s features Yoder’s next-generation Adaptive Control System. It connects to the FireBoard app on mobile devices via both Bluetooth and your home Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can remotely control your grill's temperature, monitor food with the two included temperature probes, change cooking programs to hold your grill at a set temperature once your food is done, and more—all from your phone.

Ease of Use 

While the YS480s is technologically advanced, it’s also incredibly easy to start. Simply load the pellet hopper, power on the grill, set it to your desired cooking temperature, and fire it up with a simple push of a button. The grill will automatically run its ignition program and should reach the desired cooking temperature within 10-20 minutes.

The high-capacity hopper holds a 20-pound bag of pellets and can run for approximately 10+ hours at 225°F. The high-airflow burn grate improves efficiency and prevents clogging by carrying ash away from the burn pot. The ceramic ignition system lasts five times longer than conventional contact igniters, heats up twice as fast, and generates 100% more heat using an induction lighting system for reliable ignitions.

• Built around a powerful microprocessor, the ACS board accounts for multiple input variables to keep your grill’s temperature consistent. It is intelligent enough to respond to drastic temperature shifts caused by opening the grill door, adding cold meat to the grill, weather fluctuations, or changes in pellet burn rates when switching pellet types mid-cook.

Quick-Start Tips & Best Practices

The YS480s startup process is a breeze. Simply load up the pellet hopper, power up the grill, and hit the “START” button. The auger will immediately begin to move pellets into the burn pot. And finally, the ceramic igniter will power on to initiate the induction heat combustion process.

Visible flames will appear within four minutes, while the fans and auger work together to fuel the fire and help bring the grill up to its target temperature. For best results:

• Clean the burn pot of any ash or debris before each use so that it is ready for the next cook.
• Allow the grill to reach the desired temperature before putting food on to cook. 
• Take weather conditions into consideration, as the heat-up process will take longer when temperatures are low.
