Outdoor Fireplaces

An outdoor fireplace does something a fire pit can't — it anchors a space. At All Things Barbecue, we carry two approaches to getting there. Napoleon electric fireplaces bring the look of a real flame without a gas line or venting, making them a clean, flexible option for covered patios, outdoor rooms, and screened spaces. Firegear gas burner systems are built for the other end of the spectrum — if you're designing a custom outdoor fireplace from the ground up, Firegear's 304 stainless steel burners with TFS electronic ignition are the foundation worth building around. Whether you're looking for something you can plug in or something you build into stone, we have both.

Electric or Gas: Choosing the Right Outdoor Fireplace

The first decision is fuel type, and it comes down to how your space is set up. Electric fireplaces like Napoleon's are the simpler install — plug into a standard outlet or hardwire, no gas line required, no venting to plan around. They work well in covered outdoor living rooms, screened porches, or anywhere you want ambiance without the infrastructure. Most Napoleon models also run in flame-only mode, so you get the visual effect year-round without generating heat. Gas fireplaces built on Firegear burner systems are a bigger project but a more permanent result — real flame, real heat, and a custom surround in whatever material fits your design. They require a natural gas or propane connection and proper ventilation when enclosed, so they're best planned during a build or renovation rather than added after the fact. If you're not sure which direction fits your space, the ATBBQ team is happy to help — call us at 316-440-3950.
