What is the Yoder Smokers Replacement Outer Fan?
This is the factory replacement outer (cooling) fan for Yoder Smokers’ pellet grills, used to cool the pellet hopper and assist with ventilation.
What are its specifications and features?
• Designed with 68 CFM airflow (approximate) as a cooling fan that sits just inside the hopper end cap.
• Color: Black, with “Made in the USA” construction.
• Mounting uses #10 × ¾" hex head self-drilling screws per Yoder’s replacement instructions.
• Designed to match the orientation arrow (airflow direction) used by original Yoder fans.
How do I install the replacement outer fan?
According to Yoder’s service documentation:
1. Disconnect power to the grill.
2. Remove the hopper end panel by unscrewing the ~11 fasteners.
3. Disconnect the two wires (green and white) from the old outer fan.
4. Remove the fan diffuser (two screws + nuts) and then unscrew the old outer fan (4 screws).
5. Install the new fan in the same orientation (following the airflow arrow) with the 4 screws.
6. Reattach the fan diffuser and reconnect the wiring.
7. Replace the hopper end panel.
What are the advantages and limitations?
Advantages:
• Restores proper cooling airflow in the pellet hopper
• OEM part ensures compatibility and performance
• Helps maintain consistent temperature control and pellet storage stability
Limitations / cautions:
• Must be installed in correct orientation (airflow arrow)
• Wiring must be handled carefully (disconnect power first)
• Should use proper mounting hardware and seals to avoid vibration or misalignment
• Does not affect the internal combustion / burn fan — that’s a separate component
