FireBoard S1G Antenna — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the FireBoard S1G Antenna and what does it do?
This antenna enables your FireBoard 2, Drive, or Pro controller to receive data from **S1G devices** (such as the FireBoard Beacon). It plugs into the auxiliary port and expands your wireless sensing capabilities.
What are the specifications (size, frequency, connector)?

  • Outer dimensions: 2.9" × 1.0" × 1.1" (74 × 25 × 28 mm)
  • Frequency range: 902 – 928 MHz
  • Connector: 8-pin Mini-DIN to plug into the FireBoard aux port
  • Power: Drawn from the FireBoard via the aux port.

  Which FireBoard models are compatible?
It is compatible with FireBoard 2, FireBoard Drive, and FireBoard Pro—that is, any model with an auxiliary port supporting S1G capability.
How do I install and use the S1G antenna?

  1. Power off or safely disable your FireBoard (if recommended).
  2. Insert the antenna into the auxiliary (aux) port (8-pin Mini-DIN) securely.
  3. Position the antenna so that it has clear line of sight or minimal obstruction to the S1G devices (Beacon, etc.).
  4. Turn your system back on and verify that your S1G devices are being detected and their data appears on your FireBoard display / app.
  5. Adjust antenna orientation if signal reception is weak.

What are the limitations, risks, or compatibility caveats?

  • The antenna must be plugged into the correct aux port and powered via the FireBoard—if your model doesn’t provide aux power, it may not function.
  • Signal strength may be reduced by physical obstructions (metal, dense materials) between the antenna and S1G devices.
  • The antenna’s frequency range (902–928 MHz) must align with local regulatory limits—ensure compliance in your region.
  • Not all older adapter or accessory systems may have been designed with S1G in mind, so retrofits may sometimes require firmware or hardware support updates.
