SHADED COOKING WITH SPACE TO HOST
This backyard started with nothing but an idea a new patio and a covered kitchen to go with it. Our team designed a custom pergola to shade the space, then built the entire kitchen around it, giving this family a cooking and gathering area that didn't exist before.
This one started from scratch. The plan called for extending the existing patio slab to match the width of the home's covered porch, then covering the new kitchen area with its own custom pergola polycarbonate roof panels, sized to the new slab so the space could get used rain or shine. That meant footings for the pergola posts and new gas and electrical lines run from the other side of the house, all of it needing to land in exactly the right spot before the kitchen itself could go in.
With several appliances packed into one run, counterspace was the priority there's a place to set a plate no matter which appliance is in use. The centerpiece is an Alfresco 36" ALXE, a luxury-class gas grill with an optional infrared sear burner for real high-heat searing. A griddle and side burners round out the cooking options, and a 30" dry pantry adds sealed, weather-resistant storage a place to leave everyday items outside all season without worrying about dust, bugs, or moisture.
The homeowners already had a smaller covered porch with a fireplace, TV, and seating area. This new pergola-covered kitchen extends that space adding room to cook and a bar for extra seating, all under the same kind of cover they already loved.
